back to topWhat is Amphenol Antel's Warranty?

Amphenol Antel, Inc. warrants all products manufactured to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of shipment and to meet the company's standard product specifications. Amphenol Antel's obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, for a period of five (5) years from date of shipment to the original purchaser for fixed electrical downtilt products and one (1) year for antennas with adjustable electrical downtilt. No return material will be accepted for warranty repair or replacement without prior authorization from Amphenol Antel, and all charges on returned materials must be prepaid by the buyer.

Determination of credit for warranty repair or replacement will be made solely only after a complete inspection of the failed unit is made at the Amphenol Antel factory. Said warranty credit is the sole judgement of Amphenol Antel, Inc. Warranty credit does not cover damage resulting from lightning, wind beyond said stated specifications, improper installation or other causes beyond the control of Amphenol Antel, Inc.

back to top Is Amphenol Antel ISO Certified?

Yes. Amphenol Antel's Quality Management System is ISO 9001:2000 certified.
Our certificate number is: FM 45703.

Amphenol Antel is ISO 9001:2000 Certified

back to topWhat is 3T Technology™?

3T TechnologyThe foundation of our antenna design is a non-collinear, corporate feed assembly, which allows access to each radiating element of the antenna. We refer to this as True Transmission Line Technology™ or 3T Technology™. Antenna designs that use a co-linear approach lose consistency as the RF signal moves away from the connector. Amphenol Antel's 3T non-colinear design provides broad bandwidth and consistent performance across the band. It also gives us full control of the phase and amplitude of our radiation patterns, making it possible to achieve specific results in electrical downtilt, null fill and lobe suppression.

Feedlines are either a single-piece assembly or they pass through a 4-channel extrusion running the length of the antenna for structural integrity. In both cases, conventional solder joints, which have a high failure rate in moisture and temperature change, are eliminated. In all Amphenol Antel designs, brass feedlines are used for transmission and air is used as insulation, offering many advantages - including reliable performance, long service life and low internal signal loss.

back to topWhat is FlexTilt™?

The FlexTilt™ series is our line of manual adjustable (MET) and remote adjustable (RET) antennas. If includes the antennas and the system accessories such as the control units, cables, bias tees, etc. The FlexTilt™ series incorporates phase shifters with our existing dual polarized (BXA Series) 3T™ antenna design.

back to topIs Amphenol Antel an AISG Member?

Yes. Amphenol Antel is an AISG member. Our vendor code is "AI".
Amphenol Antel is an AISG Member

What Version of the AISG Standard do Amphenol Antel's RET Products Operate Under?

Currently, Amphenol Antel's RET antenna products operate under AISG v1.1. We are in the process of converting to AISG v2.0.

back to topWhat is Amphenol Antel's Delivery Lead Time?

Our standard delivery lead time is shipment within 10-15 business days after receipt of order (ARO). In emergency situations antennas may be shipped in 1-3 business days.

front to back How is Front-to-Back Measured?

Amphenol Antel calculates the front-to-back measurement as an average +/- 30° from -180°. Please see the illustration below as an example. It is important to note that not all antenna manufacturer's calculate front-to-back in this way. We feel an average value provides a better understanding of how the antenna performs than a single value at -180°.

The shaded area in the pattern at left represents the cone that is used to calculate the average front-to-back ratio of Amphenol Antel's antennas. As you can see from the illustration, the average value provides a much better respresentation of the antenna performance.

back to topHow Do I Download Antenna Patterns?

Antenna patterns can be downloaded from our website at www.antelinc.com in the section titled "Pattern Data". Select an application and a product family to download individual files. Select "All" to download the entire selection of antennas in a particular application. Currently we offer data in Aircom Asset, ASCII, CelPlan, CelCad, dB Planner, EDX, GeoPlan, Granet, Hydra, LCC/ANET, Lucent/CE4, NetPlan/Motorola, Odyssey, Path Loss, Planet and Wizard. XML format is available upon request. Data can also be accessed on our CD-ROM catalog.

back to topIf I Don't See the Antenna I'm Looking for, Can I Request It?

Yes. Please submit any antenna request to your Antenna Consultant or our Technical Support Group. They will determine if the development is feasible and how long it will take to complete. Amphenol Antel's 100% mechanical design is easily adaptable to new technologies and requirements.

back to topCan a Standard Omni Antenna be Inverted and Vice-Versa?

No. A standard, upright omni (BCD series) cannot be inverted and likewise, an omni specifically designed as an invert cannot be installed upright. If an omni is not installed as it was designed, the drain holes will fill with water, there will be inadequate lightning protection, and any antenna featuring electrical downtilt will show uptilt.

back to topWhat is the Difference Between the BXA and the BXA FP Series?

The BXA series is Amphenol Antel's line of slant +/- 45°, dual-polarized antennas. The BXA FP series features the same antennas, redesigned for concealment applications. Since the most common type of concealment application is a flag pole, "FP" for "Flag Pole" was added to the model number. The only difference between the BXA and BXA FP antenna models is mechanical. In the most typical concealment configuration, three antennas are mounted around a pipe and covered with a concealment radome. In order to allow the smallest diameter concealment radome, we adjust the antennas "z-bracket" and use u-bolts for mounting, keeping the antennas as close to the pipe as possible. In some instances the mechanical change isn't necessary or cannot be done. Check the antenna specification sheet to determine which type of bracket is used.

back to topWhat is a Z-Bracket? What is a T-Bracket?

A "z-bracket" or "t-bracket" is simply the piece of metal used to attached the mounting bracket to the antenna itself.
We refer to them as a "z-bracket" and a "t-bracket" because of their shape.

back to topWhat is the Difference Between the RWA and RWB Series?

The RWA and RWB Series can be considered the same for all purposes. The RWB Series is merely a subset of the RWA Series. The original RWA Series consisted of the RWA-8006, RWA-8007, RWA-8008, RWA-8009, RWA-80010, RWA-80011, RWA-80012, RWA-80013, RWA-80014, RWA-80015, RWA-80016 and RWA-80017 antenna models. Because the model numbers are all sequential (based on gain), we
couldn't add new models without changing the model numbering scheme. Rather than changing the original RWA model numbers that were already in use, we simply added a subset to this category for all newly developed antenna models - the RWB Series.

What is the Difference Between a DIN and an E-DIN Connector and an N and NE Connector?

The E-DIN and NE connectors are elongated versions of the DIN and N connectors. The elongation makes them easier to access and easier to weather-proof.

It is Mentioned that Amphenol Antel Uses Range Tested Radiation Patterns, Not Simulations.
What is the Significance?

By using actual range tested patterns in our literature and tabulated data we give you the "real-world" example of how the antenna performs. What you see on our spec sheets and in our tabulated data is what you can expect to see when the antenna in installed in your network.
